Georgian Defense Ministry refutes serviceman's death in Afghanistan

TBILISI. Aug 16 (Interfax) - The Georgian Defense Ministry does not confirm media reports claiming the death of a Georgian serviceman in Afghanistan.

"A number of news agencies and two television channels reported unverified news of the death of Georgian serviceman Pavle Tabagari in Afghanistan. The information is false," the ministry said.

It asked the media not to publish such reports without verification, because families might incur psychological trauma and society might be misled.
