Police attacked outside summer amphitheater in Nazran

NAZRAN. Aug 16 (Interfax-AVN) - Police officers who were guarding a summer amphitheater near the Kavkaz federal highway in Nazran came under a fire attack in the early hours of Thursday, the Ingushetia Interior Ministry told Interfax.

The shooting occurred at 2 a.m. The attack was presumably perpetrated by three people who were traveling in a silver-colored Lada-Priora with no license plate.

"The criminals fired from automatic rifles at a UAZ vehicle with security guards inside. No one was injured in the shooting. The amphitheater building was slightly damaged," the Interior Ministry spokesperson said.

An inquiry is under way, he said.
