Energoinvest launches phase-1 of solar power station in Ukraine
KYIV. Aug 17 (Interfax) - LLC Energoinvest has launched the first phase of the Halzhbiyevska solar power station in the Vinnytsia region with capacity of 267.9 kW, the head of licensing at the National Energy Regulation Commission, Yury Antonyuk said at a commission meeting on Thursday.
He said the station will have a total of five phases with combined capacity of 1.45 MW. Construction is scheduled for completion by 2013.
The amount of investment in the project has not been specified. Experts were citied as saying earlier that 1 MW of solar power capacity requires investment of about EUR3 million.
The commission set a feed-in tariff for electricity generated by the first phase of the solar station, and adjusted Energoinvest's total installed generating capacity to 14.46 MW.
Energoinvest earlier built the 1.875 MW Sloboda-Bushanska solar power station in Vinnytsia region. Energoinvest also operates 12 small hydropower plants in the Vinnytsia, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk and Ternopol regions.
Energoinvest is reportedly controlled by Anatoly Matviyenko, a former governor of Vinnytsia region. Matviyenko is also the beneficiary of Novosvit, which operates 15 small HPP and one solar power station.
The National Energy Regulation Commission regulates natural monopolies in the electricity, oil and gas sectors, and is responsible for price and tariff policy in these sectors.
