Court verdict contains serious violations - Pussy Riot lawyer
MOSCOW. Aug 17 (Interfax) - The verdict issued by the Khamovnichesky court in the Pussy Riot case is unlawful and contains a number of serious violations, said a lawyer for one of the convicted band members.
"This verdict is absolutely unlawful," Mark Feigin told reporters outside the court building on Friday.
"Even from what the judge read out, one can make initial approximate conclusions that the motivating part of the verdict contains serious violations," the defense lawyer said.
In particular, "apart from all procedural violations the lawyers talked about earlier, which were not reflected in the motivating part, other serious violations took place: wrong quotes and false facts were used," Feigin said.
"Witnesses and those who were questioned were attributed the words they never said," he said
The defense team will appeal against the verdict which imposed two-year prison terms on the three women from Pussy Riot, the lawyer said.
