MOSCOW. Aug 21 (Interfax) - The Russian government has approved the composition of its new commission for the agro-industrial and fishing complexes.

According to a resolution signed on August 15, Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich has been appointed the commission's chairman, and Agriculture Minister Nikolai Fyodorov has been selected its deputy chairman.

The commission will also include Chairman of the Union of Russian Agriculture Workers Natalya Agapova, Deputy Director of the Federal Customs Service (FCS) Tatyana Golendeyeva, Deputy Director of the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) Konstantin Laykam, General Director of OJSC Rosagroleasing Valery Nazarov, Director of Rosselkhoznadzor (Russia's veterinary and phytosanitary oversight body) Sergei Dankvert, Director of Rospotrebnadzor (the Russian Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare) Gennady Onishchenko, Chairman of the Management Board of Rosselkhozbank Dmitry Patrushev, Auditor at the Russian Accounts Chamber Mikhail Odintsov, and others.

The government commission for the agro-industrial and fishing complexes was created in July 2012 after the abolition of two government commissions: the commission for the agro-industrial complex and the commission for the development of the fishing complex. The new commission is a coordinating entity designed to ensure harmonized action by representatives of the executive authorities on the development and implementation of a unified state policy in the agro-industrial sphere and the sustainable development of agricultural territories, as well as the development of the fisheries complex.

The primary task of the commission is to craft proposals for implementing the main thrusts of the Russian governmental agrifood policy and the state policy for the development of the fisheries complex.
