Four dead in helicopter crash at Astana airport - Defense Ministry

ASTANA. Aug 22 (Interfax) - Four crewmembers were killed in the Kazakh Defense Ministry MI-17 helicopter crash, the press service for the Kazakh Defense Ministry has reported.

The helicopter crashed while making a training flight in the area of the Astana aerodrome on Wednesday morning.

An interdepartmental commission has been created to investigate the crash, the press service said. Officials from the Main Flight Safety Department, the State Aviation Department, the Defense Ministry, the prosecutor's office, and the Military Investigations Department of the Interior Ministry are working at the accident site.

The cause of the crash will be determined by the commission, the press service said.
