Four parties likely make it into parliament - polling data
KYIV. Aug 27 (Interfax) - Four of Ukraine's parties are certain to make it into the Verkhovna Rada, according to a poll conducted by the Ilko Kucheriv Democratic Initiatives Foundation in cooperation with the Razumkov Center on August 10-15.
The four are the Party of Regions, the Batkyvshchina party, the UDAR (Strike) party and the Communist Party of Ukraine.
The Party of Regions may hope to receive 28.1% of the vote, up by 0.5% from 27.6% in June. Batkyvshchina may get 25.6%, as much as in June. UDAR, led by well-known boxer Vitali Klitschko, may come third with 11.5% compared to 9.7% in June, while 8.2% would vote for the Communists, up by 1.1%.
Natalia Korolevska's Ukraine - Forward! party has lost about 0.6% from 4.6% to 4.0%. The Svoboda nationalist party has gained 0.7% from 3.1% to3.8%.
The other parties would receive less than 1%.
Of the 2009 people polled in 132 communities in all of Ukraine's regions, 1.5% said they would vote for some other party and 14.4% are still undecided. The margin of error is 2.3%.
