Famous blogger Dzhafar Khashimov dies in Moscow
MOSCOW. Aug 29 (Interfax) - Famous blogger Dzhafar Khashimov, better known to LiveJournal users as churkan has died in Moscow.
The blogger's death was announced on Twitter by politician Ilya Yashin. A source from law enforcement authorities has confirmed the blogger's death to Interfax.
Khashimov fell out of a house window today, the source said.
A preliminary inquiry is under way. Suicide is the likeliest version.
The door of the apartment from which the blogger fell out was locked from inside, the source said.
Meanwhile, it was reported that police did not find any suicide note at the scene.
The 44-year-old blogger worked as a political commentator on the Ren-TV channel. In the spring of 2008 he won election to the LiveJournal supervisory board, having become the first representative of the Cyrillic script users. He was one of the founders of the otdam_darom community.
