Courts' guilty verdict in Tymoshenko's "gas case" proven - higher court

KYIV. Aug 29 (Interfax) - Lower courts' conclusions concerning Ukrainian ex-prime minister Yulia Tymoshenko's guilt in the "gas case" has been confirmed by the proof provided, the Supreme Specialized Civil and Criminal Court of Ukraine has announced.

"The court's conclusions are based on an objective assessment of the proof provided," Rapporteur Judge Oleksandr Yelfimov announced on Wednesday.

The proof has been gathered in a due procedure," he said. "The board of judges thinks that the courts' conclusions concerning Tymoshenko's guilt are correct," he added.

The court also believes that the defense attorneys' claims that Tymoshenko's actions were devoid of motives are unfounded," he said.
