Dagestan's Interior Ministry makes list of suspects in sheikh killing

ROSTOV-ON-DON. Aug 29 (Interfax) - Dagestan's police have identified the six people who were killed and one person wounded in the recent terrorist attack that killed theologian Said Atsayev, the republic's Interior Ministry reported on its website on Wednesday

According to the police, Alavudin Abdurakhmanov, who was wounded in the attack, was hospitalized in Buinaksk with "injuries to different parts of his body."

The police determined that the explosive device used by Aminat Kurbanova (Saprykina) to carry out the attack was equivalent to 1-1.5 kilos of TNT. The bomb was strapped to the suicide bomber's body with a belt and was stuffed with metal balls to make the blast more damaging.

The Investigations Committee earlier told Interfax the bomb was equivalent to 200 grams of TNT.

A 30-year-old woman called Aminat Kurbanova (Saprykina) came to the house of well-known religious figure Said Afandi Atsayev in the village of Chirkei in the Buinaksk district at around 4 p.m. on Tuesday and activated the explosive device attached to her body. The explosion killed Atsayev and six other people who were nearby and caused significant damage to the property.

A criminal inquiry was launched under the Russian Criminal Code Article 205 (terror attack), Article 105 part two (the murder of two and more persons), Article 222 (illicit arms trafficking), Article 223 (illicit manufacture of a weapon, ammunition and explosive devices) and Article 167 (intentional damage to property), the ministry said.

The investigators believe the killing is likely linked to the theologian's religious activities
