Chupa Chups producer ups 2011 sales revenues 4% to 5.1 bln rubles in Russia
MOSCOW. Aug 29 (Interfax) - The Russian subsidiary of the Dutch-Italian confectionery concern Perfetti Van Melle, LLC Van Melle, increased its sales revenues 4% to 5.1 billion rubles in 2011 from 4.9 billion rubles in 2010.
According to the SPARK-Interfax data system, the company cut its net losses to 262.8 million rubles last year from 347.4 million rubles the year before. Gross profits were up but slightly - from 2.08 billion rubles to 2.12 billion rubles in 2011.
LLC Van Melle deals in sugar and confectionery goods.
LLC Perfetti Van Melle (Moscow Region) is the producer of confectionery products. Its sales revenues increased to 1.969 billion rubles last year from 1.681 billion rubles in 2010. The enterprise's net losses decreased to 52.991 million rubles last year from 168.379 million rubles the year before.
Van Melle was set up in the Netherlands in 1900. After joining up with Italy's Perfetti in 2001, it became on of the world's largest confectionery outfits. It bought Chupa Chups in 2006. The company owns the brandnames Mentos, Frisk, Fruittella, and Alpenliebe, among others. Perfetti Van Melle operates in almost 140 countries.
