Russia posts 636.5-bln rubles consolidated budget surplus in H1 - Rosstat

MOSCOW. Aug 30 (Interfax) - Russia had a consolidated budget surplus of 1.14 trillion rubles in January-June 2012, compared with a surplus of 1.746 trillion rubles in the same period of last year, the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) said.

Consolidated budget revenue, including state extra-budgetary funds, totaled 11.102 trillion rubles, up from 9.885 trillion rubles in the same period of last year; and consolidated spending was 9.961 trillion rubles, up from 8.139 trillion rubles.

Tax revenues to the consolidated budget in 6M 2012 included 2.426 trillion rubles from foreign economic activities or 21.9% of overall revenue; 1.826 trillion rubles in compulsory social insurance contributions (16.5%); 1.298 trillion rubles in corporate profit tax (11.7%); 1.26 trillion rubles from taxes, levies and royalties for the use of natural resources (11.3%); 1.006 trillion rubles from personal income tax (9.1%); 978.6 billion rubles VAT on goods sold in Russia (8.8%); 756.7 billion rubles VAT on goods brought into in Russia (6.8%); 351.1 billion rubles in property tax; 361.6 billion rubles excise on goods made in Russia; and 24.4 billion rubles excise on goods brought into Russia.

Consolidated budget expenditures in 6M 2012 included 5.922 trillion rubles on social and cultural programs; 966.4 million rubles on national defense; and 1.155 trillion rubles on the national economy, including 287 billion rubles on transport; 757.9 billion rubles on national security and law enforcement; 621.1 billion rubles on general government needs; 344.4 billion rubles on the housing and public utilities sector and 188 billion rubles on government and municipal debt servicing.

Russia's federal budget had a surplus of 270.7 billion rubles in the 6M, compared with a surplus of 703.5 billion rubles in the same period of last year. Revenue was 6.2 trillion rubles (5.306 trillion rubles a year previously) and spending - 5.93 trillion rubles (4.603 trillion rubles).
