Russian, Palestinian diplomats discuss Mideast issues
MOSCOW. Aug 31 (Interfax) - The Russian President's Special Representative for the Middle East, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, and Palestinian Ambassador to Russia Faed Mustafa have met in Moscow to discuss the situation in the Middle East and North Africa, as well as the Israeli-Palestinian relations.
"The discussion focused on the current situation in the Middle East and North Africa with an emphasis on the state of affairs in the Israeli-Palestinian relations, the situation in the Palestinian territories, and the intra-Palestinian reconciliation," the Russian Foreign Ministry said on its website on Friday.
The meeting was held at Mustafa's initiative, it said.
The parties also discussed the bilateral cooperation. "The diplomats touched upon a number of pressing issues relating to the Russian-Palestinian cooperation. They reaffirmed bilateral willingness to maintain an active political dialogue at various levels and continue to develop the diverse bilateral cooperation," the Foreign Ministry said.
