Rosneft to supply E.On Russia with 4.65 bcm of gas
MOSCOW. Sept 3. (Interfax) - Rosneft has signed a contract with the E.ON Russia to supply the generating company's Surgutskaya GRES-2 power plant with 4.65 bcm of gas in 2013-2015, E.ON Russia said in a statement.
The company did not say how much the contract was worth.
This agreement will make it possible to provide Surgutskaya GRES-2 with the volume of gas for stable operation for three years.
From 2013 on, OJSC Surgutneftegas , OJSC NOVATEK and Rosneft JSC will be fuel suppliers for Surgutskaya GRES-2 branch of E.ON Russia.
E.ON Russia will said in August that it would be dropping Gazprom in favor of independent suppliers form 2013. It will be the first Russian wholesale generating company to do so.
E.ON Russia includes five state district power plants (GRES) with 10.345 GW in combined capacity, including Surgutkaya GRES-2, Berezovskaya, Shaturskaya, Smolenskaya and Yaivinskaya GRES. Germany's E.ON owns 82.3% of the company.
Rosneft is also planning to sign a deal with OJSC Fortum to supply gas worth more than $500 million.
Rosneft produced 6.7 bcm of gas in H1 2012.
