Ukrainian steel majors cut roll output in 8M
KYIV. Sept 4 (Interfax) - Most Ukrainian steel majors reduced finished roll production in January-June.
ArcelorMittal Kryviy Rih (formerly Kryvorizhstal), the country's biggest steel mill, raised roll production tentatively 14.1% year-on-year to 3.581 million tonnes, the company told Interfax.
But Azovstal said it reduced roll output 22.5% year-on-year to 2.847 million tonnes, Zaporizhstal reduced it 3.1% to 2.068 million tonnes and the Ilich works from Mariupol reduced it 11.6% to 2.28 million tonnes.
The Alchevsk Iron & Steel Works, a member of the Industrial Union of Donbass (IUD) group, cut roll output 10.2% year-on-year to 2.241 million tonnes, while IUD's Dzerzhinsky mill boosted it 9.7% to 2.151 million tonnes.
