Astronauts to repair ISS power supply system in space walk on Wednesday
MOSCOW. Sept 5 (Interfax-AVN) - Astronauts Sunita Williams and Akihiko Hoshide will work outside the International Space Station on Wednesday to finish the workload left over from the previous space walk.
The space walk is to begin at 3:15 p.m. Moscow time and last some 6.5 hours, NASA said on its website.
Williams and Hoshide are to remove the Main Bus Switching Unit (MBSU) which they had failed to attach to the station securely, clean it up, apply a lubricant to the screws and try to install the MBSU back in its place. If they fail as previously, they will bring it back into the station.
Reports said earlier that without the MBSU attached the station cannot get power from two solar arrays.
The astronauts will also replace a TV camera and lighting gear on the Canadarm2 robotic arm, NASA said.
