Investigators probing Berezovsky's possible investment of criminal proceeds in Borjomi - statement

MOSCOW. Sept 5 (Interfax) - Searches at the Moscow office of the Borjomi company, which were reported of earlier on Wednesday, were prompted by information obtained by the investigation that businessman Boris Berezovsky might have invested large sums of money acquired in an illegal way in this business.

"The searches were conducted after the investigation obtained information indicating that Berezovsky might have invested tens of millions of dollars, which the investigation believes were acquired, in particular, through criminal activities, in the said commercial organizations through a number of trust funds," Investigative Committee spokesman Vladimir Markin told Interfax.
