CEC reports readiness for common voting day Oct 14
MOSCOW. Sept 5 (Interfax) - The Russian Central Elections Commission (CEC) has announced that the Russian electoral system is fully prepared to conduct regional and local elections on October 14.
"We can say 40 days before the common day of voting that the electoral system is fully ready to hold the elections. All funds due have been assigned to election commissions on time," CEC deputy chairman Leonid Ivlev told the press on Wednesday.
He said that on October 14 over 22 million voters in 76 constituent territories will take part in 4,814 elections at various levels.
