Finance Ministry drafts Forex market regulation proposals

SOCHI. Sept 6 (Interfax) - The Russian Finance Ministry has drafted proposals about Forex market regulation, which it plan to give licenses to players on this market similar to those for professional stock market participants, Deputy Finance Minister Alexei Savatyugin said on the sidelines of an International Banking Forum in Sochi.

"We have drafted proposals that boil down to offering an additional license specially to Forex market participants, similar to licenses for professional stock market participants, with requirements for minimum capital, information disclosure, and all the requirements asked of professional stock market participants, with the corresponding financial reports," he said.

There are no other Forex market regulation proposals at the moment, Savatyugin said. "There is no alternative," he added.
