Moscow wants conference on nuclear-free Middle East to be held in 2012
MOSCOW. Sept 7 (Interfax) - Moscow hopes that the proposed international conference on the establishment of a zone free of weapons of mass destruction in the Middle East will be held this year after all.
"We object to postponing it until 2013," Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said in Moscow.
He said the conference would hopefully be attended by representatives of all countries of the Middle East.
Reports said earlier that the conference could be held in Helsinki before the end of the year.
