An-28 passenger plane crash-lands in Kamchatka; fatalities reported
PETROPAVLOVSK-KAMCHATSKY. Sept 12 (Interfax) - An Antonov An-28 passenger plane crash-landed in the northern part of the Kamchatka Peninsula in Russia's Far East, the Kamchatka territorial administration reported on Wednesday.
Radio contact with the plane, which was en route from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky's Yelizovo airport to the township of Palana with 11 passengers and 2 crewmembers on board, was lost at 12:28 p.m. local time, when the plane was approaching Palana for landing. The plane was later discovered lying on its side about 10 kilometers away from the Palana airport.
