Investigators analyzing video records from scene of investigator's murder in Moscow

MOSCOW. Sept 13 (Interfax) - Investigators are examining records from outdoor surveillance cameras at the scene of the murder of their colleague in the western part of Moscow, a law enforcement source told Interfax.

"Records from the outdoor cameras installed near the crime scene have been retrieved, and Moscow Criminal Investigations Department operatives and investigators are analyzing them," the source said.

Two 9-mm cartridge cases have been found at the scene, which prompted the investigators to presume that the murderer apparently used a Makarov pistol or a non-lethal gun adapted for use with conventional bullets.

Alexander Leonov, 38, an investigator from the Moscow interregional transport investigative department, was killed near his home on Krylatskiye Kholmy Street on Wednesday evening. A criminal case has been opened on charges of murder and illegal circulation of weapons.
