Medvedev calls on Kyrgyzstan to strictly honor debt obligations

MOSCOW. Sept 13 (Interfax) - Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has insisted that Kyrgyzstan should strictly honor its obligations on settling its debts to Russia.

"The document envisions the adjustment of the conditions of the debt's repayment to Russia. I hope that, upon implementing these decisions, we will have more opportunities for developing mutually advantageous cooperation, naturally, only if everything that we have discussed is meticulously implemented by our partners in Kyrgyzstan, because, unfortunately, it's not always been so," he said.

This should provide preconditions for mutually advantageous cooperation and for active operation of Russian companies in Kyrgyzstan, he said.

A draft agreement on settling Kyrgyzstan's debt to Russia is on the agenda of the Thursday government meeting.
