Kazakhstan cuts steel production 20.5% in 8M
ALMATY. Sept 13 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan produced 2.65 million tonnes of crude steel in January-August, down 20.5% year-on-year, the State Statistics Agency said.
Output of flat steel products fell 14.6% to 1.8 million tonnes, production of galvanized steel fell 12.7% to 366,057 tonnes and production of tin-plate and tin-plated sheet fell by 31.8% to 109,525 tonnes.
Ferroalloy production grew 0.7% year-on-year to 1.136 million tonnes.
Crude iron ore production fell 1.4% to 33.805 million tonnes.
