German doctors forsake patient Tymoshenko - chief doctor of Kharkiv hospital

KYIV. Sept 13 (Interfax) - Nearly a month has passed since representatives of Berlin's Charite clinic last visited ex-Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, Mikahilo Afanasyev, chief doctor of the Kharkiv Central Clinical Hospital, told Interfax on Wednesday.

Annette Reisshauer was the last German doctor to visit Tymoshenko a month ago. No other German medics have sought permission to visit her, he said.

"It's been a month since the last visit by the Charite clinic's representative Annette Reisshauer. No one has called us or wrote us or attempted to get in touch with us ever since. We have no idea when the next visit by Charite doctors may take place. Annette said that somebody would arrive three weeks later. We were expecting them last Friday, but we received no information, and nobody arrived," Afanasyev said.

There has been no reply to Ukrainian medics' proposal to maintain contact with their German colleagues via Internet communications, he said, adding that, in his opinion, "it made sense because then they would be able to get daily information about their patient's progress and her health condition and adjust their recommendations."

During her last visit, Reisshauer noted positive dynamics in Tymoshenko's recovery.
