Police estimate number of opposition marches in Moscow at 14,000
MOSCOW. Sept 15 (Interfax) - Most of the participants in an opposition march have reached Sakharov Avenue in Moscow to take part in a rally, the Moscow city police department told Interfax.
"Most of the march participants have crossed Garden Ring and are gathering at the venue of a rally on Sakharov Avenue," a police spokesman said, who estimated the number of participants at about 14,000.
"Therefore, it is clear already now that it is out of the question that a March of Millions, or even a march of hundreds or tens of thousands, has taken place in Moscow," he said.
