No Russians amongst victims of Kabul explosion - Foreign Ministry
MOSCOW. Sept 18 (Interfax) - The Russian Foreign Ministry has expressed concern about the terrorist act in Kabul, which claimed ten lives.
"A suicide bomber attacked three vans carrying employees of a South African private company, which rendered services to the U.S. Embassy, in Kabul on September 18. According to the preliminary information, the explosion killed ten people, among them eight foreigners. There are no Russians amongst the victims," the ministry said.
"Remaining tensions in Afghanistan, both in remote regions and in the capital city, cause our serious concern against the backdrop of the accelerating transfer of powers and pullout of foreign forces from Afghanistan," the ministry said.
Reports said that the terrorist act on the road to the Kabul Airport killed from ten to twelve people on Tuesday morning. The suicide bomber blasted his vehicle close to the vans transporting foreign company employees, Kabul police chief Mohammad Ayub Salangi said.
The Hizb-i-Islami group claimed responsible for the terrorist act. A group representative said the attack avenged the Innocence of Muslims film produced in the United States, which hurt religious feelings of the Muslims.
The Russian Embassy in Kabul said the explosion did not hurt Russians.
