Ten prison employees detained on torture counts - Georgian prosecutor

TBILISI. Sept 19 (Interfax) - Georgia's prosecutor general, Murtaz Zodelava, said 10 employees of the Gldani prison, where tortures were practiced, have been detained.

Another prison employee Vladimir Bedukadze is on a wanted list, he said at a press briefing on Wednesday.

"The alleged offense is being probed on counts of inhuman treatment and humiliation. It has been established that several groups of prison employees practiced beatings," the prosecutor said.

One of the groups whose treatment of inmates was particularly cruel, would film their tortures and sell the videos to third parties for a reward, he said.
