Zarechnaya commissions 1.1 mln tonne coal face at flagship mine
KEMEROVO. Sept 19 (Interfax) - LLC Zarechnaya Coal Company's flagship Zarechnaya deep mine in the Kemerovo region has commissioned a new coal face at its Oktyabrsky section with reserves of 1.1 million tonnes, the company said.
The company plans to produce 160,000 tonnes of coal per month from the new face, which is in the Nadbaikaimsky coal face and is 230 meters long and 2.5 meters wide.
Equipment made by the local Yurga Machine Building Works and by Germany's Eickhoff will be used at the face.
Zarechnaya bought the Oktyabrsky section from OJSC SUEK-Kuzbass in 2010. The section yielded 2.5 million tonnes of G-grade coal in 2011 and could produce 3 million tonnes in 2012. It produced 1.6 million tonnes in January-August.
Zarechnaya Coal Company includes Zarechnaya Mine with the Oktyabrsky mine section, OJSC Aleksiyevskaya Mine, Karagailinskoye mining division (under construction), LLC Sibirskaya Mine (under construction), the Sputnik enrichment plant, a coal terminal at Latvia's Ventspils port, and a number of auxiliary businesses.
The company exports over 90% of its coal to 12 countries, including to Spain, Britain and the Netherlands. Viktor Nusenkis owns the company.
