Manas airport to be exclusively civilian after 2014 - Kyrgyz president
BISHKEK. Sept 20 (Interfax) - Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev has reaffirmed the Kyrgyz leadership's determination to make the Manas airport a civilian center after 2014, instead of the U.S. transit center deployed there at the moment.
"I have said repeatedly that the civilian airport Manas should be a civilian airport, and we will reformat it into a cargo transit hub," Atambayev told journalists following talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday.
"There will be no airbase of any country there after 2014," he said.
