Justice Ministry registers Democratic Choice party

MOSCOW. Sept 20 (Interfax) - Russia's Justice Ministry has registered a new political party, Democratic Choice, with Vladimir Milov as its Executive Director, the ministry reports on its website.

The party headquartered on Teterinsky Lane in Moscow was registered on September 10.

Its key goal is "to free Russians from the binds of the ineffective, corrupted and bureaucratic state" and to build a new 21st-century society caring about its people, serving their interests and assuming responsibilities.

The program stipulates the transformation of Russia into a modern country comfortable to live in and free of the bureaucratic heritage, a country whose people are the masters of their own destiny.

It calls for lower taxes, a modern pension system, modernized police and armed forces, the true independence of courts, a land ownership reform and a freeze on monopoly price and tariff hikes.
