Emotions running high in Georgia ahead of elections - monitors

VIENNA. Sept 24 (Interfax) - The rhetoric coming from the parties running for parliament in Georgia is becoming increasingly aggressive, election monitors from the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe said in an interim report.

The election campaign has centered on confrontation between the United National Movement party and the Georgian Dream coalition led by Bidzina Ivanishvili. The parties' rhetoric is rigorous and aggressive, the report says.

The opposition parties have ample opportunity to inform voters about their ideas.

The election campaign is receiving wide coverage but most of the media are biased, according to the report.

The Georgian parliamentary elections are scheduled for October 1.
