Dollar and euro decline on MICEX for Tues because of improving external situation and ruble deficit

MOSCOW. Sept 25 (Interfax) - The U.S. dollar and euro posted steady losses on the MICEX on Tuesday in reaction to the improving trends on world capital markets and worsening ruble liquidity in the bank sector in the lead-up to the tax period. The ruble went up against the Central Bank's bi-currency basket (set at 0.45 euro and $0.55) for the day. The basket went down by 16.5 kopecks to close at 35.075 rubles.

The dollar went down by 20 kopecks to close at 30.96 rubles/$1 on the MICEX while the euro declined by 12.5 kopecks to finish at 40.105 rubles/EUR1.

The dollar went down by 15.18 kopecks to 31.1089 rubles/$1 in Today deals on the MICEX and 17.66 kopecks to 31.0637 rubles/$1 in Tomorrow deals. Overall trading volume was $9.099 billion, including $2.305 billion in Today and $6.7939 billion in Tomorrow.

The euro declined 26.19 kopecks to 40.1646 rubles/EUR1 in Today deals and 22.36 kopecks to 40.1421 rubles/EUR1 in Tomorrow deals with a volume of EUR400.149 million, including EUR192.317 million Today and EUR207.832million Tomorrow.

The overnight MosPrime went up by 37 basis points to 6.24%.
