UN/Arab League Envoy for Syria Brahimi might visit Moscow in near future - Russian diplomat

NEW YORK. Sept 25 (Interfax) - UN/Arab League Envoy for Syria Lakhdar Brahimi might visit Moscow in the near future.

"We have talked about this [Brahimi's visit to Russia] since the very beginning, after his appointment, but we have not yet discussed particular dates. We expect this to happen in the near future," Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov told Interfax in New York on Tuesday.

"Taking into account the developments in the situation [in Syria], we believe Brahimi's visit to Moscow should be arranged as soon as possible to continue our contacts," he said.
