Continental Management to put 230 mln rubles in modernizing Yenisei Pulp & Paper Mill

KRASNOYARSK. Sept 28 (Interfax) - Yenisei Pulp & Paper Mill, part of the timbering industry holding Continental Management and a major producer of pulp and paper products in Krasnoyarsk Territory, is beginning the modernization of production facilities for paper to be corrugated, a project with a 230 million ruble price tag, the holding's press service said.

These monies will go to the reconstruction of one of its cardboard-making machines (130 million rubles) and the installation of new equipment for the processing of waste paper stock and the grinding of deciduous trees and conifers.

Modernization will make it possible to increase the quality of paper for corrugating, its external appearance, to cut costs on raw stock, heat, and electricity. All the work is slated for completion in October of next year.

"The complex was able to begin work on the rejuvenation of production capacity thanks to the establishment of stable work in July-August 2012. The amount of paper for corrugating sold in July-August amounted to around 13,000 tonnes. We are considering the local increases happening now as a preparatory stage in the conduct of a full-scale modernization of the complex oriented to the Chinese market," the press service quotes the company's General Director Viktor Stukalov.
