Sanctions on Iran are counterproductive for negotiations - Russian Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW. Sept 28 (Interfax) - The sanctions imposed by some countries on Iran hinder the negotiation process, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said.

"the sanctions, which continue to expand and which representatives of some countries, including influential EU countries, are again talking about, are hindering the negotiation process," he told reporters on Friday.

"Unfortunately, they are not hearing us," he said.

"In some cases, they don't even want to listen to us, like it has just happened in New York," he said.

"No one is making anyone listen to others and no one can make anyone listen to others," Ryabkov said. "We can refuse to listen to what they are trying to explain to us, but it's not our choice, we want to reach agreements," the diplomat said.
