Free Georgia party says will organize protest demos if votes rigged
TBILISI. Oct 1 (Interfax) - Kakha Kukava, the leader of the Free Georgia party that is running in the October 1 parliamentary elections, said if vote rigging is detected "the authorities will have to deal with a protest rally in central Tbilisi."
"As a rule, the authorities practice vote rigging in the second half of the day, when darkness falls. I don't know what other parties will do. As to us, we want to warn the authorities that we will not write letters of complaints to the Central Election Commission or file lawsuits. We will challenge vote rigging on Rustaveli Avenue in central Tbilisi jointly with the Georgian people," Kukava said at a press briefing on Monday.
