Russian diplomats take up one more case of Finland-resident Russian mother
MOSCOW. Oct 2 (Interfax) - Russian diplomats are planning to meet with Albina Kasatkina, one more Russian woman who lives in Finland and has had her children taken away from her by social services after a report that she had beaten her six-year-old son and daughter aged five, the spokesman for the Russian Embassy in Helsinki said on Tuesday.
"Our consular personnel have contacted her, and we're looking into the situation. Tomorrow we are meeting with her. We've taken this business under control, and now we're working with Kasatkina as well," Dmitry Suvorov told Interfax.
Earlier on Tuesday, Kasatkina met with her lawyer, Suvorov said.
Finnish human rights activist Johan Backman told Interfax earlier that the current wife of Kasatkina's ex-husband had told social services that Kasatkina had beaten her children. Kasatkina denied this, and police found no traces of blows either. Nevertheless, the social services decided to isolate Kasatkina from the children.
