Saakashvili ready to nominate Georgian Dream candidate for premier - official

TBILISI. Oct 4 (Interfax) - Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili will be ready to nominate a member of the Georgian Dream coalition, which is leading in the country's parliamentary election, as a candidate for the post of prime minister after consultations, National Security Council Secretary Giga Bokeria told the Rustavi-2 television station on Wednesday evening.

"In effect, we recognize that the Georgian Dream has won the elections. It is so far ahead of [other parties] that it would be insulting in relation to the voters to delay the formation of a new government. The President of Georgia will not delay it," Bokeria said.

He urged opponents from the Georgian Dream to refrain from making any revolutionary statements, including calls for Saakashvili to step down as Georgia's president before his term in office expires.

"For the first time in Georgia's history a new force has come to power through democratic elections. We hope that the presidential elections, scheduled to take place in 2013, will also be democratic and free," Bokeria said.
