Kazakhstan names Innocence of Muslims extremist, prohibits its screening

ASTANA. Oct 4 (Interfax) - The Astana Saryarkinsky District Court has branded extremist the Innocence of Muslims film and prohibited its screening in Kazakhstan.

The court had an open hearing of the civil claim of the Astana city prosecutor; it named the film broadcast on YouTube extremist and prohibited the film's import, screening and distribution in Kazakhstan.

The Kazakh Prosecutor General's Office initiated the court hearing on September 21.

The film produced in the United States triggered a series of attacks on U.S. diplomatic missions in a number of Islamic countries.
