No Ukrainians among those detained in U.S. illegal microchip export case - Kyiv official

KYIV. Oct 5 (Interfax) -The individuals detained in the United States on suspicion of illegally exporting high-tech microelectronic equipment do not include Ukrainian citizens, Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Oleksandr Dikusarov told Interfax on Friday.

"The information provided to Ukraine's Embassy by the U.S. services in charge of these issues confirms that there are natives of several former Soviet Republics among those detained. One of them was born in the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic, but he does not have Ukrainian citizenship. Apart from his American ID, no other documents that would confirm his other citizenship were found," Dikusarov said.
