Dollar, euro up Monday morning

MOSCOW. Oct 8 (Interfax) - The dollar and the euro posted gains on the MICEX on Monday morning, while the ruble fell against the bi-currency basket amid souring moods on global markets.

The dollar started off the day at 31.11 rubles/$1, up 24 kopecks over Friday's closing level and 14 kopecks above the official exchange rate.

The euro stood at 40.35 rubles/EUR1, 7-8 kopecks above Friday's close and the official exchange rate.

The bi-currency basket ($0.55 and EUR0.45) grew 17 kopecks to 35.27 rubles.
