Belarusian, Venezuelan presidents agree to meet soon
MINSK. Oct 9 (Interfax) - Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko and his Venezuelan counterpart Hugo Chavez have agreed to meet in the near future, a Belarusian presidential administration spokesman told Interfax on Tuesday.
"The presidents of Belarus and Venezuela held a telephone conversation late on Monday. Alexander Lukashenko congratulated his counterpart on his convincing victory in the presidential elections," he said.
"I dedicate this victory to you and our Belarusian people," Chavez was quoted as saying.
The Venezuelan president thanked Lukashenko and Belarusian citizens for their "invaluable assistance in Venezuela's socioeconomic development and the construction of major enterprises and infrastructure, as well as constant political support."
The two leaders agreed to meet in the near future to formulate a further bilateral action plan for cooperation in different areas," the spokesman said.
