Territories near military blast scene under no threat of chemical contamination - Onishchenko

MOSCOW. Oct 9 (Interfax) - Russia's chief sanitary official and head of the health and consumer rights watchdog Rospotrebnadzor, Gennady Onishchenko, said territories in the Orenburg region near the military range, where ammunition went off on Tuesday, are under no threat of chemical contamination.

"Luckily, the areas near the scene are under no threat of chemical contamination. Conventional projectiles detonated. The threat is that of fragmentation wounds, which is dangerous too," Onishchenko told Interfax on Tuesday.
