ZTE gets contract worth over $100 mln to equip RZD with GSM-R system
SHENZHEN. Oct 11 (Interfax) - ZTE Corporation has received a contract with OJSC Russian Railways (RZD) to provide equipment for the setup of a GSM-R network on the St.-Petersburg-Buslovskaya route (where high-speed Allegro trains run from Helsinki), ZTE said.
The agreement comes to over $100 million. The document foresees the delivery of network equipment and subscriber devices.
GSM-R is the international standard wireless communication network for railways.
ZTE provides GSM-R standard systems in China, Vietnam, Uzbekistan and Russia.
