Tanks practice rear warfare during Buryatia drill

CHITA. Oct 11 (Interfax-AVN) - Tank crews are practicing group raids in enemy rear and outflanking maneuvers on the Burduny shooting range in Buryatia as part of at tactical drill that began on Tuesday, the press service of the Eastern Military District reports.

The troops put up command posts and rehearsed tasks pertaining to engineering, technical and logistic support, the report says.

During the active phase of combat training, the tank crews will be assigned specific and extremely complicated tasks such as operating separately from the main forces at maximum allowable speed and others. A number of spontaneous amendments to the basic tasks have been prepared to make the fast-changing modern warfare conditions as true-to-life as possible.

More than 100 servicemen and about 50 tanks are taking part in the drill.
