Seventeen parties will run in North Ossetian parliamentary election

VLADIKAVKAZ. Oct 12 (Interfax) - North Ossetia will hold elections to its parliament on Sunday in which 17 political parties will take part, Interfax was told at the Central Elections Commission (CEC) of the republic.

The CEC noted that the election is conducted according to a mixed system - 35 deputies clearing the 5% barrier will be elected by party ballot and 35 in single-member constituencies.

Seventeen parties were cleared for the election: the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, Communists of Russia, United Russia, the Liberal Democratic Party, Patriots of Russia, the Democratic Party, the Communist Party of Social Justice, the Union of City People, A Just Russia, the Green Alliance, the Green Party, the People's Party of Russia, the Social Democratic Party, the Party of Social Networks, Cities of Russia, For Justice, and Social Security.

Two more parties were registered that are not on the party ballot because only candidates in single-mandate constituencies will represent them.

The CEC announced that 347 polling stations will function in the republic.
