Russia, Belarus to coordinate approaches to industrial, agricultural policies - decision

MINSK. Oct 13 (Interfax) - The Russian and Belarusian governments have endorsed approaches the two countries would use to coordinate their industrial and agricultural policies.

"Russia and Belarus are actively working on coordinating their industrial and agricultural policies. The prime ministers of the two countries have issued instructions on generating proposals concerning cooperation between the two economies, and we discussed these decisions today," Sergei Sidorsky, a member of the Eurasian Economic Community board and industry minister, told journalists in Minsk on Friday.

The parties endorsed approaches they will use in this area at a Eurasian Economic Community board session on Friday.

Another Eurasian Economic Community board member and trade minister, Andrei Slepnev, said the parties agreed to coordinate their positions on trade and economic interaction and on negotiations on this issue with the European Union and the CIS free trade area.
