Armenian plane forced to land in Turkey carrying humanitarian aid

ISTANBUL. Oct 15 (Interfax) - The Armenian plane Turkish authorities are searching at the moment is carrying humanitarian aid, the Turkish media reported on Monday.

The media said Armenia had informed Turkey about the planned shipment, and Turkish authorities had warned Armenia that the plane would be searched.

If nothing else but humanitarian cargo is found aboard, the plane will continue its voyage, the media said.

Earlier reports said that Turkey had forced the Armenian plane to land in Erzurum.

The plane, whose destination is Aleppo, is being searched.

The plane landed at an airport in eastern Turkey at 11:30 a.m. local time (12:30 p.m. Moscow time) on Monday.
