Kazatomprom boosts IFRS earnings 70% in 9M

ALMATY. Oct 15 (Interfax) - Kazatomprom boosted net profit 70% year-on-year in January-September to 51.201 billion tenge, the Kazakh national nuclear corporation said in non-consolidated financial results to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

Kazatomprom's sales revenue totaled 102.870 billion tenge, 30% less than a year ago. Profit before tax rose by 48% to 51.957 billion tenge.

Assets rose by 7.7% to 361.143 billion tenge, liabilities decreased by 1.1% to 155.752 billion tenge, equity, in contrast, grew by 15.6% to 205.392 billion tenge, the share capital remained flat at 36.7 billion tenge.

In the first half of 2012 Kazatomprom and its subsidiaries produced 5,552 tonnes of uranium, up 6% year-on-year.

Kazatomprom is Kazakhstan's national operator for the production and exports of uranium and its compounds, rare metals, nuclear fuel, special equipment, dual-use materials and technology.
